Yomiko Readman
However, because of the time she’s spent on the social “outs,” she’s very understanding of people who aren’t exactly within the social norm. When she learns that the original Nancy was a member of the I-Jin and a mole planted in her party, rather than be angry with Nancy’s betrayal, she instead shows sympathy over Nancy’s situation and appeals to her conscience, asking her to recognize that Ikkyu’s plan is wrong and help convince him of the fact. She’s a very different woman and she understands what it can be like to not fit in (Jinbocho was a dream come true- so many people there who understood the importance of books!), and so she can often get on very well with people who find themselves in the same boat. She also generally gets on very well with children and adolescents, as she can very well associate with the concept of trying to find one’s place in the world. She cherishes the people who know and accept her for all of her eccentricities.
Sample Entry: Hmm… you know… I’ve been thinking about it. It’s not… all bad. The memory loss, I mean. For example, I might have read some of the books I’ve found here back… wherever it is that I came from. I might have loved them dearly, read them when I was sick to make me feel better, or when I was happy or content. I might have been captivated by them and swept away by the setting, or the plot. But here, I don’t remember… and I’m not saying that it’s good that I can’t remember them, but now there’s the chance that I did, and I’m able to experience all of those feeling all over again, but completely new! Sort of like falling in love all over for the first time.
…that’s probably silly, isn’t it? Uhm… forget I said anything…

Sample #2
The disappearance of Sirrocon residents decades ago.
It was puzzling, to be sure. How could all of those people go missing all of a sudden? There had to be a reason… And where did they go? Did none of them ever return? And why did the people brought to Sirroco lack their memories? Was a side effect of the journey? Or was it purposefully done to them? It was quite a mystery… and while that thought confused her, it also rather excited her. She and all of her friends were caught up in what would make a fantastic mystery novel! A group of strangers, each different and unique, brought together by fate to a foreign land, deprived of their memories, banding together to overcome the obstacles put in their path and regain their memories and possibly find their way home…!
In the hands of the right author, it would be a brilliant story. She was sure that even if she weren’t in the situation she was, Yomiko would have read it and adored it.
But that didn’t exactly solve their problem… So, she supposed that it was time to get proactive! And she was sure that she wasn’t the first to wonder about it, so she decided it would be a good idea to request assistance.]
Excuse me, everyone, it’s Yomiko. I’ve been thinking more about the event we learned about, the disappearance of all of those people seventy years ago, and well… it occurs to me that maybe there’s a way that we could learn some more about it! I’d like to organize a thorough search of the library here to see if there are any materials there that relate to the event. Maybe there’s a history book related to it, or someone kept a personal journal that might reveal some more details of things that happened around that time… We probably won’t find anything that gives a definitive answer to the questions surrounding it, but there might be something there that contains a lead! And I think it will be a lot of fun to fully explore the library! Who knows what might be there undiscovered? I’ve mainly kept to books on the fiction section since I arrived. Even if we turn up some books that haven’t been on the shelves, I would be happy! It would be like a scene right out of a mystery novel… What do you say, is anyone interested in lending me their assistance?
